Working to get a nice variety of favourites, some new ponchos and new styles in objects ready for this fall!
|
Made a new poncho series to take to the Saskatchewan Craft Council’s Wintergreen sale in Regina Nov 8-10 this year. I have a variety of new products in my booth this year!
2018
I am working on a series of nuno felted scarves and ponchos (the process of the latest poncho above) focussing on my motifs of natural elements from a variety of silks and fine wools. I am looking forward to presenting my pieces in this recognized market and meeting people in a November to showcase my work.

It is so hard to see fall already! While I know the next shoe will fall, it is important to pause and see what is outside for inspiration! So many amazing natural colours and textures that I can carry into colours and motifs going forward! As you can see in the last photo, even our animals enjoy the moderate temperatures and sit outside loving all the colour!

I just returned from an amazing symposium! felt::feutre Canada recently concluded its bi-annual gathering with a spectular gathering of instructors and participants. Such positive, creative energy flowed through the event! https://www.felt-feutre-canada.com/news/
I was fortunate to be a participant in Leiko Uchiyama’s Pine Needle workshop and Catherine O’Leary’s surface design class. Both artists are so well versed and inspirational. Once again, my boundaries have expanded and ideas abound for new ways to enhance my work and new techniques to hone. A few photos below of the pieces, the processes and finished work!

WINTERGREEN IS COMING!
Over the next few weeks I will be kicking into high gear to be prepared for my premier showcase at Wintergreen, the Saskatchewan Craft Council’s premier fall sale in the southern part of our province in mid-November. I will be updating my Etsy page soon after. There will be new pieces available soon through my Etsy page.

Back in the studio! Making samples of scarves to take to the Toronto Gift Fair in late January 2019. An amazing opportunity that has been presented thanks to the Saskatchewan Craft Council...a way to take my work to eastern markets! I am very honoured to be part of the group who is participating. Finished working with SCC to get a professional catalogue of pieces ready which went to the printers just before Christmas.... Now just working to take some strong pieces forward! |
